Four different Schenectady County bakery businesses that launched after the pandemic began will be together in one larger Bakers’ Showcase this Saturday, June 17th at The Schenectady Trading Company in downtown Schenectady. The year 2021 was a difficult one, but the strong women behind these distinct bakeries channeled their passion, talent, drive and dedication into launching their dreams and sustaining and growing their small businesses through these uncertain times. They’ve endured various health obstacles and unique family demands to face entrepreneurship head on and do what they do best: bake delicious treats, celebrate family and heritage, and spread some joy and culture in a world that is hungry for both.
These businesses have experimented with farmer’s markets, larger events, pop-up shops, pre-orders, pickups, wholesale sales, direct to consumer sales, and even shipping and door-to-door delivery in some cases as they explore the ideal way to get their goods to market and build brand awareness. Whether started out of a home kitchen, ghost kitchen, or commercial kitchen; they’ve cultivated a following for creative, inspired, and fresh-baked desserts with a personal touch.
The event participants are:
● Ppang Bakery with Asian-inspired baked goods (Niskayuna)
● Nonna Anne’s Kitchen with Italian desserts (Rotterdam)
● Meezan Kitchen with Mediterranean desserts and Cake Cubes (Niskayuna)
● Four Boys Bakery with gluten-free desserts and breads (Niskayuna)
