Restaurant receives the most votes during 6th annual event in Downtown Schenectady
SCHENECTADY, NY – February 26, 2022 – Downtown Schenectady’s streets and businesses were teeming with thousands of visitors today during the 6th Annual Schenectady Soup Stroll from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During the event organized by the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC), guests sampled an outstanding selection of soup recipes from 28 participating restaurants.
Jim Salengo, executive director of the DSIC, said, “We couldn’t be happier with the incredible turnout and fantastic support for our restaurants today. After a year without the Soup Stroll in 2021 due the pandemic, I know the community was thrilled to enjoy the return of one of our most popular downtown events.” He added, “Today’s beautiful sunshine and fresh coating of snow made it a perfect winter day to get out and socialize with friends and warm up with delicious soups.”
Those who sampled at least 10 soups were encouraged to cast votes for their favorite flavor at ballot boxes placed around downtown. After all ballots were counted following the event, the 2022 Soup Stroll results were as follows:
