Spuds in the Spotlight During Inaugural Downtown Schenectady Tater Trot

May 16, 2023Amy Sonder2

22 Restaurants Will Serve Up Creative Potato Recipes on May 20

Schenectady, NY (May 16, 2023) – Twenty-two participating restaurants throughout Downtown Schenectady will dish up delicious creations featuring everyone’s favorite tuber during the inaugural Downtown Schenectady Tater Trot on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. To enjoy the Tater Trot, guests may pick up an event map at any participating location or print an online PDF copy and then stroll from restaurant to restaurant to savor unique potato recipes for $1.00 per sample. The event is presented by the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC).

Jim Salengo, executive director of the DSIC, said, “The Tater Trot was born from a discussion with Downtown Schenectady’s restaurants about expanding the great success of our fall Wing Walk and winter Soup Stroll into a spring food event. Potatoes came out on top as the clear fan favorite in a social media poll earlier this year, and our restaurants have truly stepped up the challenge to create a mouthwatering variety of potato-based treats.”
