Spectacular Autumn Glow Lantern Festival Coming to Historic Mabee Farm in Rotterdam Junction in the Fall

Schenectady, N.Y. — Experience the magic of autumn when the enchanting Autumn Glow Lantern Festival illuminates the historic Mabee Farm site in Rotterdam Junction, NY in September. A memorable experience for all ages, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a world filled with hundreds of handcrafted lanterns, live entertainment and more from September 5th through November 3rd, 2024.

Set against the backdrop of the historic farm located at 1100 Main Street in Rotterdam Junction, the Autumn Glow Lantern Festival will transform the grounds into a breathtaking display of lanterns, each crafted to capture the very essence of fall. As the sun sets, the festival comes to life with hundreds of lanterns aglow, casting a warm and inviting ambiance throughout the site.

“The Schenectady County Historical Society is excited to host this new and unique artistic attraction to Schenectady County,” said Mary Zawacki, Executive Director of the Schenectady County Historical Society. “Mabee Farm is the perfect spot in the Capital Region for celebrating fall, and we can’t wait to see the Farm sparkle under the Lantern Festival’s lights.”

Tickets for the Autumn Glow Lantern Festival can be purchased now at this link. Admission includes access to all festival activities and performances. The festival will be open to the public Thursday through Sunday, providing ample opportunities for families, friends, and nature enthusiasts to experience the magic of autumn in a unique and memorable way.

“The Autumn Glow Festival at Mabee Farm is another fantastic event happening right here in Schenectady County,” said Cathy Gatta, President of the Discover Schenectady Board of Directors and Schenectady County Legislator. “This new addition will further enhance our reputation as a hub for culture and entertainment, providing residents and visitors with even more opportunities to experience the diverse and vibrant offerings of our community.”

Autumn Glow Lantern Festival highlights include:

  • Lantern Walk: Stroll along illuminated paths adorned with intricately designed lanterns, showcasing custom created lantern art.
  • Live Entertainment: Enjoy live music performances and cultural demonstrations throughout the festival grounds.
  • Seasonal Delights: Indulge in delicious seasonal treats and beverages available from local vendors, perfect for enjoying under the starlit skies.

The festival is produced by Kaleido Arts and Entertainment which has welcomed over 500,000 visitors to its lantern festivals throughout the country.
