Schenectady HOMES Program Partner Opens Office in Downtown Schenectady

April 26, 2018Jim Salengo

HOMES Program to Host City-Wide Open House Sunday

SCHENECTADY – Mayor Gary R. McCarthy and the Schenectady HOMES Program welcomed Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Blake, Realtors (BHHS) to Downtown Schenectady on Thursday. The Capital Region Chamber of Commerce was also on hand to host the ribbon cutting for the new office at 426 State Street.

“Our HOMES Program has successfully assisted in the sale of hundreds of homes by bringing together an array of real estate professionals to help buyers through the home purchasing process, and we are extremely proud of the role Berkshire Hathaway has played in that success,” Mayor McCarthy said. “We are extremely pleased to welcome them to the heart of Downtown Schenectady and look forward to continue partnering with them to promote and facilitate homeownership in the city.”

The downtown office, located next to Proctors Theater and Aperitivo Bistro, is in a key location in the city. Downtown has experienced an economic renaissance due to the hard work of Schenectady’s unified economic development team, Mayor McCarthy added. BHHS is the fourth-largest residential real estate broker in the region, according to the Albany Business Review List.

“We are very excited to be in Schenectady. As a real estate company that serves this great city it’s only appropriate that we have a store front location making it easier for residents and future residents to have local access to real estate information,” said Ryan Clark, Branch Manager, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Blake, Realtors.

The City of Schenectady’s HOMES Program will also be hosting a City-Wide Open House for potential homebuyers this Sunday, April 29, 2018. Listings will be made available in the Capital Region Real Estate section of Sunday’s Daily Gazette. Current residents and newcomers alike can find information on the Open Houses as well as other housing opportunities, financial assistance, and program offers at www.CallSchenectadyHome.com.

The following properties will be featured in this Sunday’s Open House:

  • 208 Donald Ave, 12-2pm
  • 235 Abbotsford Rd, 1-3pm
  • 268 Bradley Blvd, 1-3pm
  • 537 Gerling St, 1-3pm
  • 1247 Waverly Pl, 12-2pm
  • 1466 Van Curler Ave, 1-3pm
