Downtown Schenectady Hometown Heroes Banner Program 2024
The Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC), with the City of Schenectady, presents the tenth year of our popular Hometown Heroes Banner Program with the City of Schenectady. This program proudly recognizes active duty and veteran service members, both living and deceased. Each banner honors a specific Schenectady service member and features their name, branch of service, and photo. Banners are displayed on street lamps in Downtown Schenectady along State Street (from Veterans Park to Washington Avenue) and on Clinton Street (by the Central Library) through Veterans Day in November.
A fun fact for our tenth year of hanging Hometown Hero banners, to date we have hung 432 banners!
