Since 1661, and spanning 82 acres on the Mohawk River, The Stockade in Schenectady, New York has been continuously inhabited for more than 300 years. The National Park Service has described it as “the highest concentration of historic period homes in the country,” including 40 pre-Revolutionary homes. The Stockade features architectural styles including Dutch Colonial, Georgian, Federal and Victorian.
