Healing Lily Celebrates Grand Opening in Downtown Schenectady

November 4, 2021Amy Sonder2

New metaphysical shop features stones, crystals, and healing services

(SCHENECTADY, NY – November 4, 2021) – Fans of alternative medicine and merchandise celebrated another great reason to visit Downtown Schenectady today as Healing Lily held its grand opening at 34 Jay Street, Suite 1. The ribbon cutting ceremony was hosted by the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC).

Owner Lily Pizarro describes Healing Lily as an extremely diverse metaphysical shop. “It’s not just about offering pretty stones, spiritual herbs, and gifts,” said Pizarro. “At Healing Lily, we offer a variety of services, such as Reiki healing and Chakra healing sessions for individuals and couples.” She added, “We also offer handmade personalized gift boxes customized to your specific healing/spiritual needs and budget; these are available year-round and can be ordered ahead of time or made in-store, delivered, or shipped.”

Jim Salengo, executive director of the DSIC, said, “Healing Lily adds to Downtown Schenectady’s diversity by offering specialized products and services connected to spirituality and alternative medicine. The greater the variety of businesses we have, the greater downtown’s appeal is as a destination. We welcome Lily and wish her many years of success in her new location.”

Founded in 2019, Healing Lily helps customers understand that Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing (a subset of alternative medicine), using a technique called hands-on healing through which the Universal Energy is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient. This Universal Energy encourages emotional and/or physical healing and wellbeing. Healing Lily also provides a safe and welcoming space for relaxation or conversation during lunch, after work, or anytime during business hours, as well as beautiful, hand-picked crystals and stones from all over the world.

For Pizarro, her business started as a life-long hobby. “I began picking up heart-shaped rocks off the ground, putting the next meteor shower date in my calendar so I didn’t miss it, and staying up to watch the rising blood moon. Along with always wanting to make someone who was down and out believe in themselves or in something again, my passions grew and turned into a life’s purpose and calling.” Pizarro is certified in Reiki 1, 2 and Masters levels, as well as Crystal Healing and Chakra Healing.

Regarding her new location in Downtown Schenectady, Pizarro said, “Jay Street is the definition of diversity, of joy, and of peace. At Healing Lily, we pride ourselves in all the above. We are not only a women-owned business, but also a minority-owned business and an LGBTQ-owned business. We are an honest, positive, feel-good business who just wants to add to the beauty that is Jay Street and Downtown Schenectady.”
