New shop provides resources to assist customers on their spiritual path
(SCHENECTADY, NY – November 10, 2021) – A new shop offering the supplies, services, and support for your personal spiritual journey held its grand opening today in Downtown Schenectady. Grounded Goddess, located at 127 Jay Street on the Jay Street Marketplace pedestrian walkway, cut the ceremonial ribbon during a celebration hosted by the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC).
Owner Christina Maisonette said, “I chose to open a business in Schenectady because this is my hometown. For me, this is a great opportunity to provide a safe and welcoming space for the community. There is a lot of good here and a lot of good people, and to be able to contribute to Schenectady is a great accomplishment for me.”
Jim Salengo, executive director of the DSIC, said, “Every time a new business opens on the Jay Street Marketplace, it adds to the eclectic appeal of one of downtown’s most popular destinations. We wish Grounded Goddess much success, and we encourage everyone to visit them and our many other small businesses as we head into the busy holiday shopping season.”
Grounded Goddess provides a variety of spiritual supplies such as smudges, crystals, journals, books, candles, and tarot decks. They also carry more than 30 herbs stocked at their herb station and more than 17 types of therapeutic grade essential oils.
The shop also features a variety of hand-crafted tea blends (you can try a cup at the free tea/hot cocoa station). The Refillery Station at Grounded Goddess offers a variety of all-natural and organic hair care and body wash products for all hair and skin types.
Maisonette said, “In addition to the products we offer, we host monthly classes such as yoga, journaling, meditation, and soul sessions. Our goal is to be able to provide a safe space for people to come heal, learn, and expand their knowledge of their spiritual journey, heal from past trauma, and to be able to speak openly without judgment, knowing they have a great support system.”
Grounded Goddess is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and by appointment only on Monday. For more information, visit http://www.groundedgoddess.shop/.
