Frog Alley Brewing Leaps Forward in Downtown Schenectady

June 20, 2019Jim Salengo

Three More Breweries Sign Leases

(Schenectady, N.Y.) ––  The Frog Alley Brewing Company today announced that three breweries have signed leases to occupy space at the Mill Artisan District on lower State Street in downtown Schenectady.

JT Pollard, owner of Frog Alley and developer of the Mill Artisan District said, “The only thing better than good beer is more good beer so Frog Alley is pleased to welcome three new breweries to the Mill Artisan District.  Each has signed a lease to occupy space in our Tap Room where they join Frog Alley in serving the finest in craft beverages.”

The three breweries signing leases include two established breweries — Rare Form of Troy, NY and Crossroads Brewing of Athens and Catskill, NY.  Craftpoint, a new brewer will also launch at Frog Alley.

The three breweries will contract with Frog Alley to produce beer on site and sell their products at converted shipping containers that are a part of the Tap Room.

Frog Alley is a full-scale beer brewing, bottling and canning operation with a Tap Room where customers can sample and purchase products made on site. Frog Alley products are now available in more than 150 establishments with multiple contract brewing deals in production. Saratoga Eagle recently signed on to distribute the product.

The Tap Room is open Monday and Tuesday 4 pm to 8 pm, Wednesday 4pm to 9 pm, Thursday 4 pm to

11 pm, Friday 4 pm to 12 midnight, Saturday 12 noon to 12 midnight and Sunday 12 noon to 8 pm.

The Mill Artisan District is a multi-use development helping to revitalize lower State in downtown  Schenectady. The project includes 74 residential apartments, almost 20,000 square feet of high tech office space, training space for SUNY Schenectady, a large bar and tap room, outdoor patio and retailers including Bountiful Bread.

The Project is being built by BBL Construction Services with financing provided by Pioneer Bank. The redevelopment project has also received support from Empire State Development, the Capital Region Economic Development Council and the Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority.

The lower State Street area where the project is located was once called Frog Alley.  A local baseball team named the Frog Alleys received national attention when they were arrested for playing ball on Sunday in 1903.  The Frog Alley Brewery is dedicated to making and serving the best in craft beers seven days a week even on Sundays.
