Waterfront Development Continues to Attract New Jobs to Schenectady

Schenectady, N.Y., August 16, 2018 — The Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority today announced that Delta Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors (Delta), a multidisciplinary architectural and engineering firm based in Endwell, NY, will open an office at Mohawk Harbor.

Delta, founded in 1976, provides a wide range of architectural, engineering, environmental, survey and mapping services to clients throughout the United States. Delta has offices in Endwell, NY; Vernon, NY, and Chevy Chase, MD.

Anthony R. Paniccia, PE, JD, President and CEO of Delta said, “Our company’s goal is to make a difference in the communities we serve. Mohawk Harbor is the ideal location for us to serve customers in Eastern New York and New England. We are excited about becoming part of this waterfront development and we appreciate the efforts of both Metroplex and the Galesi Group for working with us on our move to Schenectady.

Delta will relocate 8 jobs to Schenectady with plans to hire another 10 to 12 employees during the next few years.
Ray Gillen, Metroplex Chair said, “We are excited to welcome Delta to the harbor. This is exactly the type of company we want to bring to Schenectady. We welcome Delta to the Capital Region’s premiere live/work community along our reclaimed riverfront.”

Mayor Gary McCarthy said, “I’m glad to welcome Delta Engineering to the growing list of companies calling Mohawk Harbor and the City of Schenectady home.”

David Buicko, Galesi CEO said, “We were very impressed with the Delta team. We look forward to having them move in to the Harbor Center Office complex.”

Metroplex will provide a $60,000 grant toward relocation and fit-up costs for the new office.
