IT company [s]Cube to move into New York BizLab

Schenectady, NY – August 31, 2016 – The New York BizLab, a Schenectady-based business accelerator, has landed its sixth tech tenant. [s]Cube Inc. is expected to move into the accelerator, located at 251 State Street in downtown Schenectady, in the fourth quarter.

[s]Cube is a fast-growing IT and Internet of Things company. The company will locate on the third floor of the BizLab, across the hall from Dumbstruck, which recently moved in.

“We are excited to welcome [s]Cube to the BizLab. We see a lot of synergistic opportunities among [s]Cube and BizLab tenants as well as Transfinder. [s]Cube is a perfect fit,” said Antonio Civitella, founder and president of the New York BizLab and CEO of Transfinder, a global logistics software developer based in Schenectady.

[s]Cube was founded in 2015. The company will lease about 2,500 square feet at the BizLab and is expected to hire 10 employees within the next six months.

[s]Cube provides IT support to customers ranging from law firms that need to manage information, to government agencies that are interacting with customers that want to obtain information and conduct business online. The firm also designs cloud integration strategies for its customers and works in the fast-growing area called the Internet of Things, which is rapidly changing technology by providing a way to network devices so that communication is enhanced creating rapid increases in technology.

We are looking forward to working directly with Schenectady County Community College and creating jobs throughout the area. The BizLab provides the platform for companies such as ours to work directly with the community and provide state of the art solutions,” said Suman Akula, [s]Cube CEO.

“[s]Cube creates smart applications for integrated products and provide tools to build, analyze, collaborate and connect everyday objects to the Internet. The company is focused on helping its clients with IT solutions that will reduce operating expenses and increase return on investment,” said Pat Gray, [s]Cube president. “We strongly believe that we can make communities innovative and efficient using talent from within our own region,” added Pat Gray, [s]Cube president.

Denise Zieske, vice president for Workforce Development and Community Education at Schenectady County Community College, said [s]Cube’s expertise was a welcome addition to the community.

“The SUNY Schenectady County Community College is looking forward to partnering with [s]Cube to bring the Internet of Things to our community,” she said. “The two principals have strong ties to academia and we are eager to tap into their expertise.”

Ray Gillen, Chair of the Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority, said, “Metroplex is so proud of its partnership with the BizLab which has resulted in six companies moving to Schenectady with more to come. We congratulate Mr. Civitella and his team for landing [s]Cube.”
