Bountiful Bread Opens in Schenectady

June 22, 2021Amy Sonder2

Albany, NY (June 22, 2021)—Bountiful Bread in Schenectady opened its doors to the public yesterday. This is the second location for Bountiful Bread, an artisan bread-baking company founded in 1996 in Stuyvesant Plaza, Albany. Bountiful Bread on State Street will share the same menu as its sister location in Stuyvesant Plaza, serving a variety of scratch-made breads, sandwiches, salads, grain bowls, cookies and cakes. Bountiful Bread in Schenectady is located in the Frog Alley Brewery building at 108 State Street, alongside Annabel’s Pizza Company.

Bountiful Bread will offer catering on-premise at Frog Alley, and throughout the Albany-Schenectady area. Current hours for Bountiful Bread in Schenectady are 8 AM to 3 PM seven days/week, with expectations to expand in the coming months.

Bountiful Bread Schenectady is the newest restaurant to open under White Management Corporation, a family-run restaurant group founded in 1967 by David White of Slingerlands, NY. White’s son Brian, of Altamont, has been working with his father since the early 2000’s, and took over as President of the company in 2020. The company opened Annabel’s Pizza Company in the height of the covid-19 pandemic, but held off on opening Bountiful Bread Schenectady until NY-state covid restrictions eased up. Sherwin Maralit, a graduate of Shaker High School and Sienna College, rejoined the company in January as General Manager of Bountiful Bread Schenectady. Maralit’s sister Sheryl had worked with the company, running Coldstone Creamery in Stuyvesant Plaza, leaving shortly before White Management sold their Coldstone holdings. Maralit himself is a former General Manager of Coldstone Creamery in Saratoga and Times Square, as well as of Atlanta Bread Company and Applebee’s.

“We are excited to finally open the doors,” said Brian White of yesterday’s Bountiful Bread debut. “Sherwin Maralit has hired a top-notch team, and we look forward to serving the Schenectady community for meals, catering, and special events.”

White mentioned Schenectady’s Metroplex Development Authority, Doug Sayles, and JT Pollard of Frog Alley, as key partners in helping with the development of Bountiful Bread Schenectady. Many other local organizations have lent their support, including Proctor’s Collaborative, who recently released an episode of their Inner Workings video series on Bountiful Bread.

White Management owns and operates over thirty restaurants in the upstate New York area, including the Log Jam in Lake George, Butcher Block Steak and Seafood in Plattsburgh, and Dunkin’, KFC, and Taco Bell franchises. Their corporate office is located in Clinton, NY. For more information on the company, visit www.whiterestaurants.com.
