Restaurant receives the most votes during 7th annual event in Downtown Schenectady
SCHENECTADY, NY – October 6, 2018 – A total of 23 locations served up a mouthwatering selection of chicken wing recipes to a sold-out crowd of 2,000 guests during the 7th Annual Wing Walk today from 12:00-5:00 p.m. in Downtown Schenectady. Guests were encouraged to cast votes for their favorite wing flavor; more than 1,300 votes were cast in special locked ballot boxes place around downtown. After all ballots were counted following the event, the 2018 Wing Walk Winner by popular vote was Aperitivo Bistro for their Calabrian Chili Agrodolce Wing. Second place went to Pinhead Susan’s for their When Pigs Fly Wing. Third place went to The Horses Lounge @ Clinton Street Pub for their The Whole “Sha” Bang Wing.
In addition to the popular vote, a panel of special guest judges from the Yelp Albany Elite Member community rated wings in several categories. Judges were Daniel Berman, Michael Calamari, Corie Yodis and Holly Yost. Kid’s Choice Judge was Chase Lecuyer. Judges’ picks were:
- Judges’ Top Wing: Aperitivo Bistro, Calabrian Chili Agrodolce Wing
- Most Creative Wing: The Horses Lounge @ Clinton Street Pub, The Whole “Sha” Bang Wing
- Best Sauce or Dry Rub: Pinhead Susan’s, When Pigs Fly Wing
- Best Texture: Slidin’ Dirty, Sesame Ginger Wing w/Housemade Asian Mustard
- Best Appearance or Presentation: The Memphis King BBQ @ The DillyBean, Smoked BBQ Wing
- Kid’s Choice: Canvas, Corks & Forks, Chicken & Waffle Boneless Wing
The 7th Annual Wing Walk was presented by the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation in partnership with Proctors.
The 8th Annual Wing Walk in Downtown Schenectady will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
