Druthers Brewing Company Announces Third Location: The Riverhouse at Mohawk Harbor

January 31, 2017Jim Salengo

Joins Rivers Casino as Latest Attraction at Schenectady Riverfront Development

SCHENECTADY – Representatives of Druthers Brewing Company and The Galesi Group today announced that the popular local brewery will lease space at The Riverhouse at Mohawk Harbor. The local brewery and restaurant’s third location will anchor the mixed-use facility, a centerpiece of the $480 million riverfront development project.

“We are blown away by the Galesi Group’s vision for Mohawk Harbor,” said Druthers Brewing Company CEO Chris Martell. “We’ve spent the last couple of years looking for the perfect spot for our third location and we found it in Schenectady. A brew pub with a beer garden overlooking the water – we can’t wait.”

Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy, Schenectady County Legislator Rory Fluman and Capital Region Chamber CEO Mark Eagan joined Galesi Group CEO Dave Buicko and Druthers CEO Chris Martell for the announcement at the Courtyard Marriott at Mohawk Harbor.

“It has been such a pleasure to watch the ongoing success of Schenectady’s continuously growing array of dining and craft beer options, and adding an established local restaurant and brewery like Druthers will only continue that trend,” said Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy. “Galesi Group is one of our city’s most devoted partners, and we owe them an enormous debt of gratitude for their recent investments in the future of Downtown Schenectady.”

A favorite among local beer drinkers, Druthers Brewing Company has cultivated a reputation as one of the Capital Region’s premier craft breweries. Druthers’ operation demonstrates a strong commitment to making great food and beer with the best available ingredients. The Riverhouse will join Druthers’ locations in Saratoga and Albany when it opens later this year, increasing the brewery’s established presence throughout the Capital Region.

Mohawk Harbor is 1.4 million-square-foot planned community that integrates luxury living, high-tech office space, hotels, restaurants and retail along one mile of the Mohawk River. The Riverhouse, a mixed use 206-unit apartment building, features approximately 47,000 square feet of retail space along the promenade overlooking Mohawk Harbor. The addition of Druthers Brewing Company offers a perfect compliment to the development’s recreational offerings, including the Rivers Casino and Resort, set to open on February 8.

“Mohawk Harbor will offer Downtown Schenectady’s visitors and residents a unique urban experience the likes of which have never been seen in the Capital Region before,” said Dave Buicko, Chief Executive Officer of Galesi Group. “We are thrilled to partner with Druthers Brewing Company, and look forward to welcoming the area’s craft beer drinkers to their new location for many years to come.”

For almost 50 years, Galesi Group has made a commitment investing in the Capital Region, its infrastructure, and its people. Since 1969, Galesi has established itself as one of the Northeast’s leading real estate developers with a portfolio in excess of 11 million square feet of industrial, commercial and residential properties.
