Thompson & Johnson Equipment Company to Build New Office/Warehouse in Schenectady County

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority today announced that Thompson & Johnson Equipment Company plans to purchase 11 acres in the Town of Rotterdam and construct a 21,000 square foot building on the site. The company will bring 35 jobs to Schenectady County.

“Schenectady County continues to attract new businesses to our area, which means new jobs and opportunities for our residents,” said Anthony Jasenski, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “We welcome Thompson & Johnson Equipment to our community and commend our economic development team for their dedication to bringing new businesses and investment to our County.”

The new facility to be constructed at 679 Mariaville Road is located just off Route 7 and I–88 adjacent to Technical Fiber Products, an international manufacturing and technology company that Metroplex also recruited to Schenectady County.

Thompson & Johnson was founded in 1954 in Syracuse and has locations now in Elmira, Binghamton and Albany.

The company sells, leases and services forklifts and other material handling equipment.
