HEADQUARTERS TO RELOCATE WITHIN PRICE CHOPPER/MARKET 32 HEADQUARTERS IN SCHENECTADY, NY

December 20, 2019Amy Sonder2

New location reflects company’s culture and values

SCHENECTADY, NY – December 20, 2019 – SI Group a leading developer and manufacturer of performance additives, process solutions, pharmaceuticals and chemical intermediates, announced today the selection of the Golub Corporation building, headquarters to Price Chopper/Market 32 in Schenectady, NY, for its Global Headquarters location. SI Group will occupy a floor in this LEED Gold certified facility, which offers a full-serve cafeteria, large fitness center, advanced IT infrastructure and security, direct access to walking and bike paths, and close proximity to restaurants and businesses. The new facility will also provide a pleasant experience for customers while illustrating the company’s culture and values.

“We’re pleased to relocate our headquarter offices to a facility that fits our workforce today and reflects the company’s culture and values,” said David Bradley, SI Group President & Chief Executive Officer. “The location also allows employees to be part of the Schenectady downtown community.”

Anthony Jasenski, Chairman of the Schenectady County Legislature said, “Our County economic development team, led by Metroplex, worked very hard to retain this very important corporate headquarters. SI Group had many choices for its new office location, and we are very pleased to keep this major corporate headquarters right here in Schenectady County.”

“Price Chopper/Market 32 is pleased to welcome SI Group’s Global Headquarters, with its long history in Schenectady, to 461 Nott St. in the heart of the city’s thriving downtown,” said Scott Grimmett, the progressive Northeastern supermarket chain’s President and CEO. “We look forward to sharing the provisions and amenities of our state-of-the-art office building with their team.”

The 240,000 square foot building has six floors, each with 40,000 square feet. The sustainable building built at a former brownfield site is owned and managed by the Galesi Group, also headquartered in Schenectady, NY.

The move is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2020. The company’s research and development labs will move to a separate location. That decision is in its final stages.

CBRE-Albany is handling the sale of the current SI Group property. For inquiries about the property, please contact Dan Simpson of CBRE-Albany.
