October 18, 2018Jim Salengo

Software company locates in accelerator while new space is built

Schenectady, NY – Oct. 18, 2018 – Jahnel Group, a software company located in Schenectady, has located a division of the company into the New York BizLab to accommodate for its growth while new space is being constructed.

Jahnel Group, one of the region’s fastest growing companies, has been adding staff and today has 63 employees, outgrowing its brownstone offices at 242 Union Street in the Schenectady’s Stockade area. The company’s existing office is immediately behind the BizLab.

“We are excited to have the Jahnel Group become a member of the New York BizLab community,” said Antonio Civitella, who is the founder and president of the BizLab as well as president and CEO of Transfinder Corp., a logistics software company. “This is a fast-growing tech company that is working on some amazing projects. They will add even more energy to the BizLab.”

With a recent burst of demand and new clients being taken on — Jahnel Group has partnered with the BizLab to expand and overflow into the BizLab’s first floor suite while their new office at the Mill Artisan District is being constructed. This new office expansion into the BizLab enables Jahnel Group to accelerate growth within its custom software development services as well as their ServiceNow division. Eleven employees in the will initially work out of the BizLab.

The company, which experienced 436 percent revenue growth during the past three years, plans to move into the top level of the Mill Artisan District, which is currently under construction. The location is just down the street from the BizLab.

“We’re ecstatic to be a part of what the BizLab is doing. It’s an amazing opportunity for us,” said Jon Keller, CEO of ServiceNow, a division of Jahnel Group. “We love how it allows us to keep the team so close together, considering the proximity to our main office. We truly look forward to leveraging the space to allow us to continue to deliver world class software to our clients and partners.”

Ray Gillen, Chair of the Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority, connected the Jahnel Group with the BizLab when he learned of the software company’s space needs.

Gillen said, “We are excited to see Transfinder, the BizLab and the Jahnel Group all work together to add to the redevelopment momentum on lower State Street.”
