As an intern for the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation, you could be working closely with City officials and departments, business leaders, and Schenectady merchants. Students will have the opportunity to make professional contacts and further their career goals.

Internships at the DSIC would be appropriate for students studying:
Successful candidates will be able to work independently as well as part of a team, with the ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced professional environment.
DSIC internships are designed so that students can see a project through from start to finish. Schedules will be set at the beginning of the semester or prior to summer. Students will be expected to work a minimum of 10-12 hours per week, with at least 3 hours per shift. All scheduled school holidays will be recognized by the DSIC. DSIC cannot offer financial compensation, but will provide a letter of recommendation and reference to students who successfully complete his or her internships.
