Jim Salengo joined the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC) as Executive Director in 2008, where he is responsible for the overall supervision of the DSIC’s internal operations, programming, planning, and community relations. Highlights of his tenure at the DSIC include the creation of an in-house Environmental Enhancement Program, the launch of award winning programs such as the Merchant Mash Up, and significant advancement of the DSIC’s print and electronic communications.
Colleen Merays joined the DSIC in 2002 and currently serves as Assistant Director for the organization, where she oversees its Business Promotion & Marketing, Business Development, and Environmental Enhancement Programs. She also coordinates finance, human resources, and fundraising for the DSIC. Highlights of her tenure include serving as Program Director for the organization’s Facade Improvement Program and coordinating the Downtown Schenectady Main Street Improvement Grant Program.
Gail joined the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation in 2007 as Program Assistant and now serves as Office Manager. Gail coordinates the day-to-day operations of the office and provides assistance with the Business Promotion & Marketing and Environmental Enhancement programs. She also coordinates the DSIC’s intern program and researches and composes the “Downtown Schenectady This Week” e-newsletter, which spotlights weekly events and activities in the district. Gail is very involved as a volunteer with City Mission of Schenectady.
