Metroplex: Broadway Garage to Close for Three Weekends for Upgrades

September 20, 2018Jim Salengo

Schenectady, N.Y., September 20, 2018 — The Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority today announced that due to scheduled construction at the Broadway Garage, the parking facility will be closed the next three weekends: September 22 and 23; September 29 and 30, and October 6 and 7. The garage will close on Saturdays at 6 a.m. and reopen Sundays at 7 p.m.

Callanan Industries is performing repairs on the ground floor of the garage under a contract with Metroplex. The project involves new pavement and striping on the ground floor level. In addition, there will be improvements to the landscaping in front of the garage on Broadway and at the Hamilton Street entrance.

All surface lots downtown including the large lot next to the garage on Broadway will be open and will be free of charge.

There are no performances on the main stage at Proctors the next three weekends. Metroplex scheduled the construction work to occur before the opening of Anastasia on October 9. There are many other events scheduled at Proctors during the next three weekends at the GE Theatre and at The Addy and other venues at the entertainment complex. See www.proctors.org for schedule and information.
